FAQ
Common questions.
Everything you need to know about sending money with Zep Remit.
What is Arc Network and why does Zep Remit use it?
+
Arc Network is a Layer 1 blockchain purpose built for financial payments. It achieves sub second transaction finality with near zero gas costs making it ideal for remittance. Zep Remit uses Arc Network to settle transfers as USDC (a regulated, dollar pegged stablecoin) directly between wallets, bypassing the traditional SWIFT correspondent banking system entirely.
Is it safe? What happens if something goes wrong?
+
Zep Remit is non custodial we never hold your funds. Transfers are executed directly from your wallet via a smart contract call. Blockchain transactions are irreversible, so always double check the recipient address before confirming. Every transaction is permanently recorded on chain and verifiable on ArcScan, our block explorer. We recommend testing with a small amount first.
All transfers are routed through USDC on Arc Network. Your send currency is converted to USDC, then the recipient converts from USDC to their local currency.
What is the fee? Are there hidden charges?
+
Zep Remit charges a flat 0.1% protocol fee on the USDC amount transferred. There is zero exchange rate markup we use live market rates for all currency conversions. Gas fees on Arc Network are negligible (typically less than $0.001). There are no hidden service charges, no monthly fees, no minimum transfer amount. What you see is what you pay.
Does the recipient need a crypto wallet?
+
Yes, currently the recipient needs an Ethereum compatible wallet address (0x...) to receive USDC on Arc Network. We are working on a cash out solution that allows recipients to convert their USDC to local currency via apps like bKash, UPI, and GCash without needing deep crypto knowledge. This is coming in the next product phase.
Is this on mainnet or testnet?
+
Zep Remit is currently live on Arc Testnet. This means all transactions use test USDC tokens no real money is sent. We are preparing for mainnet launch. The testnet experience is fully functional and identical to mainnet, allowing you to try the product risk free. Join our Discord to get notified on mainnet launch.
How do I get test USDC to try the app?
+
You can get test USDC from the Arc Testnet faucet at faucet.testnet.arc.network. Connect your wallet, request test tokens, and you'll receive USDC on Arc Testnet within seconds. Then visit Zep Remit and start sending. The entire flow connect, send, receive takes under 60 seconds to experience.
What exchange rates does Zep Remit use?
+
We use market exchange rates sourced from live data feeds. For the testnet version, rates are approximated based on real world market data updated periodically. On mainnet, rates will be sourced from Chainlink oracle price feeds, ensuring on chain verified, manipulation resistant exchange rates. There is zero markup applied to the exchange rate you get the raw market rate.

Send your first transfer now.
It takes under 60 seconds. Connect your wallet, enter an amount, and experience sub second remittance for yourself.
Zep Remit is a non custodial cross border remittance application built on Arc Network the world's first stablecoin native Layer 1 blockchain. Send money globally in under one second for a flat 0.1% fee, with zero hidden costs.
Traditional remittance companies like Western Union and MoneyGram charge 5 7% per transfer on a $500 remittance, that's $25 35 gone every single time. Zep Remit replaces that system with a direct, wallet to wallet USDC transfer over Arc Network, charging only 0.1% per transfer with gas costs of roughly $0.001.
Because Zep Remit is non custodial, we never hold or control your funds. Every transfer is a direct ERC 20 USDC token transfer from your wallet to the recipient's wallet executed on chain, visible on ArcScan, and settled in under one second.
Currently on Testnet. Zep Remit is live on Arc Testnet. You can test the full transfer flow with testnet USDC tokens at no cost. Mainnet launch is coming soon.

Why Arc for remittance?
Arc Network's key differentiator for remittance applications is that USDC is the native gas token. In most blockchains, you need ETH, BNB, or another volatile asset to pay gas. On Arc, you pay gas in USDC the same asset you're transferring. This means:
// Traditional EVM chain: user needs TWO tokensbalance_required = {
ETH: "for gas (volatile price)",
USDC: "for the actual transfer"
}
// Arc Network: user needs ONE tokenbalance_required = {
USDC: "covers gas AND transfer"
}
This is crucial for remittance: a worker in Saudi Arabia doesn't need to understand crypto concepts like ETH gas. They just hold USDC and that's all they need to send money home.
Sub second finality explained
Arc Network uses a BFT (Byzantine Fault Tolerant) consensus mechanism that provides deterministic finality meaning transactions are final as soon as they're included in a block, not after multiple block confirmations. There's no "waiting for 12 confirmations" like on Ethereum. A Zep Remit transfer that leaves your wallet at 10:00:00 AM is in the recipient's wallet by 10:00:01 AM, with cryptographic certainty.
How it Works
Currency Support
Zep Remit uses USDC as the settlement layer for all transfers. This means all transfers move as USDC on chain, and conversion to/from local currencies happens at the edges when senders fund their wallets and when recipients cash out.
Settlement is always USDC. Regardless of the sender's funding currency (SAR, AED, etc.) or the recipient's payout currency (BDT, PKR, etc.), the on chain transfer is always native USDC on Arc. This eliminates volatility risk and simplifies the protocol.
Currencies
Sender Currencies
Sender currencies are the currencies that workers and senders can use to fund their Zep Remit transfers. All sender currencies are converted to USDC before being sent on chain.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Zep Remit, Arc Network, and on chain remittance.
Is Zep Remit safe to use?▾
Zep Remit is a non custodial application we never hold, touch, or have access to your funds. Your private keys stay in your wallet at all times. Transfers are standard ERC 20 USDC token transfers, which are the most battle tested transaction type in crypto history. The app is purely frontend there is no backend server storing your data.
Do I need to install a new wallet for Arc Network?▾
No. Arc Network is EVM compatible, meaning any wallet that works with Ethereum (MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, etc.) works with Arc. You just need to add the Arc Testnet as a network Zep Remit does this automatically when you connect.
What is the minimum transfer amount?▾
There is no enforced minimum on testnet. In practice, the ~$0.001 gas cost means transfers as small as $1 are still economically viable. Mainnet may introduce a soft minimum once live FX cash out is enabled.
Why does Zep Remit use USDC instead of a local stablecoin?▾
USDC is a regulated, fully backed USD stablecoin issued by Circle the same company that built Arc Network. It's audited monthly, holds a 1:1 USD reserve, and is accepted across hundreds of DeFi protocols. Using USDC as the settlement layer means no price volatility during transit, predictable gas costs, and seamless integration with Arc's native infrastructure.
Can I send to someone who doesn't have a crypto wallet?▾
Currently, the recipient needs an EVM wallet address to receive USDC. We're working on cash out integrations with local mobile money platforms (bKash in Bangladesh, UPI in India, GCash in Philippines, etc.) so recipients without wallets can receive funds via bank transfer or mobile money. This is a top roadmap priority.
What happens if I send to the wrong address?▾
Blockchain transactions are irreversible by design. If you send USDC to the wrong address, there is no way to reverse the transaction. Always triple check the recipient's wallet address before confirming. Copy paste addresses rather than typing them manually.
How do I get testnet USDC?▾
You can get testnet USDC from the Arc Network faucet at arc.network. Connect your wallet, request testnet USDC, and it will appear in your balance within seconds. Testnet tokens have no monetary value and are only for testing the Zep Remit flow.
When is mainnet launching?▾
Mainnet launch timing depends on Arc Network's mainnet deployment schedule and our completion of cash out integrations. We're currently on testnet to gather user feedback, test the transfer flow, and refine the UX. Follow our updates for announcements.
Is Zep Remit open source?▾
The frontend application is currently in private development while we finalize the protocol architecture. We plan to open source the code and publish smart contract audits before mainnet launch. The whitepaper documents the full technical design and fee model.
Do I need KYC to use Zep Remit?▾
On testnet, no KYC is required just connect a wallet and you can transfer freely. For mainnet, regulatory requirements may apply depending on transfer size and jurisdiction. Our roadmap includes KYC free micro transfers under $200 for the initial launch, with KYC for larger amounts where legally required.

Our Story & Mission
Building the future of remittances.
Finance should work for everyone especially the 280 million people who send their wages across borders to feed, house, and educate the people they love most.
Every year, 280 million migrant workers send money home to their families across borders. Construction workers in Dubai, nurses in London, factory workers in Seoul they work grueling hours so the people they love can eat, go to school, and afford medicine.
But when they try to send that money home, traditional banks and wire services take 6 8% right off the top. Sometimes more. On a $500 transfer, that's $30 $40 gone to middlemen, correspondent banks, FX desks, and settlement delays that can take 3 5 days.
"That 6% isn't just a fee. It's three days of someone's wages. It's a child's school books. It's medicine that doesn't get bought."
We built Zep Remit because we believed there had to be a better way. The answer was on chain. USDC on Arc Network the only blockchain where USDC is the native gas token lets us settle transfers in under a second, with no volatility risk, at just 0.1% fee.
We are builders who believe that financial infrastructure should serve people first. Not banks. Not hedge funds. The people who keep families together across borders.

Why we chose Arc Network
Not all blockchains are built equal. Arc is the only network where USDC is the native gas token making it uniquely suited for remittance at scale.
Most "crypto remittance" projects fail because they force users to hold a volatile token for gas fees. If ETH or BNB swings 20% overnight, your "cheap" transfer just got expensive.
Arc solves this by design. USDC IS the gas. No bridge. No swap. No volatility. You receive exactly what was sent every time.
Sub Second Finality
Transactions on Arc settle in under 1 second. Not 1 minute. Not 10 minutes. Under 1 second giving your family access to funds before the other person has closed the app.

Our Values
Built by builders who believe finance is for everyone.
We aren't a bank. We aren't a hedge fund. We're engineers, designers, and people who've seen firsthand what a 7% fee means to a family trying to survive. Our values drive every product decision we make.
People Before Profit
Every product decision starts with one question: does this make sending money home easier, cheaper, and more dignified for the person who earns it?
Radical Transparency
No hidden fees. No confusing FX rates. Every fee is shown before you confirm. Every transaction is on chain and verifiable by anyone, anywhere.
Open Infrastructure
Money should move as freely as information. We build on open, permissionless blockchain rails so that no single company including us can become a gatekeeper.

A technical and economic overview of USDC based cross border remittances on Arc Network
enabling near instant, near zero fee global money transfers for migrant workers and their families.
Zep Remit is a non custodial, blockchain native remittance application built on Arc Network Circle's
stablecoin first Layer 1 blockchain. Our protocol enables individuals to send USDC across borders to
any EVM compatible wallet in under one second, with a flat 0.1% service fee and gas costs below
$0.001 per transaction. This represents a 98% reduction in costs compared to the global average
remittance fee of 6.2%, as reported by the World Bank in Q1 2026.
The global remittance market transferred approximately $860 billion in 2023 and is projected to
exceed $1 trillion by 2028. Despite this scale, incumbent operators banks, money transfer operators,
and mobile money platforms extract an average of $53 per $1,000 sent, with some corridors charging
as high as 10 12%. This fee burden falls disproportionately on migrant workers in the Gulf, Southeast
Asia, and Europe who support families in South Asia, Sub Saharan Africa, and Latin America.
Zep Remit eliminates this inefficiency by settling transfers on chain through the Arc Network's
native USDC infrastructure. Funds arrive with deterministic finality in under one second. Senders
need only a USDC funded EVM wallet; receivers get funds directly. Our current testnet deployment
supports 6 sender corridors and 10+ receiver currencies. Mainnet launch is planned alongside Arc
Network's production release in late 2026.

02 The Problem
The Problem
Remittances represent the single largest source of external financing for low and middle income
countries, surpassing foreign direct investment and official development assistance combined.
According to World Bank data, the 200 million migrant workers worldwide send money to approximately
800 million family members who depend on it for food, healthcare, education, and shelter.
"Remittance costs remain unacceptably high... meeting the Sustainable Development Goal target of
3% average cost is still far from reached."
World Bank Remittance Prices Worldwide Report, Q1 2026
The problem is structural. Legacy remittance infrastructure relies on correspondent banking
relationships, foreign exchange desks, settlement delays (T+1 to T+3), and compliance overhead
all of which generate cost. These costs do not serve the sender or receiver; they serve
intermediaries. The result is a systemic wealth transfer from the world's poorest workers to
financial institutions.
World Bank Data Point
Sending $200 from the United States to Bangladesh costs an average of $12.40
a 6.2% fee. Western Union charges up to $15 18 for the same transfer.
On an annual remittance of $6,000, families lose $370 $1,080 to fees alone.
Beyond fees, traditional remittances suffer from opacity (hidden FX markups), slow settlement
(bank wires take 1 5 business days), geographic restrictions (many rural receivers have no
bank branch access), and limited operating hours. Digital disruptors like Wise and Remitly
have reduced some of these frictions but even they average 1 2.5% and still rely on
underlying banking rails for final settlement.

03 Our Solution
Our Solution
Zep Remit replaces legacy remittance infrastructure with a direct on chain transfer protocol.
By using USDC a fully backed, regulated dollar stablecoin as the settlement asset on
Arc Network, we eliminate every intermediary in the traditional flow: the correspondent bank,
the FX desk, the compliance clearinghouse, and the local payout agent.
A sender connects their EVM compatible wallet, enters the recipient's wallet address and the
amount in their local currency (SAR, AED, USD, GBP, EUR, or USDC), and taps send. The
equivalent USDC is transferred to the recipient's wallet via a standard ERC 20 transfer on Arc
Network. Settlement is deterministic and confirmed within 800 milliseconds.
The Core Proposition
No intermediaries. No forex spread. No waiting. Just USDC, moving at the speed of a blockchain
confirmation, for a flat 0.1% fee plus sub cent Arc gas costs. The sender keeps their key;
the receiver gets every cent intended.
Our approach is unique in the remittance space because it is entirely non custodial. Zep Remit
never holds user funds, never stores private keys, and never intermediates the transfer. All
interactions are client side wallet signatures. The only "fee" we collect is the 0.1% protocol
fee, deducted from the USDC amount before it leaves the sender's wallet during the signing flow.
Gas costs on Arc Network are paid separately in USDC at the network level and are typically
less than $0.001.
On the receiver side, funds arrive instantly as USDC. For corridors where receivers need local
currency (BDT, PKR, PHP, etc.), off ramp integrations with local exchanges and mobile money
providers are planned for the mainnet phase, allowing cash out without requiring the receiver
to manage USDC directly.
04 How It Works
How It Works
The Zep Remit transfer flow is designed to be as simple as any mobile payment app, while
being powered entirely by on chain infrastructure. Below is a step by step breakdown of
the complete send flow from the sender's perspective.
1
Connect Your Wallet
The sender visits Zep Remit and connects any EVM compatible wallet using the built in
wallet picker. Supported wallets include MetaMask, Rabby, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet,
Rainbow, Trust Wallet, Zerion, OKX Wallet, and 6+ more. The app automatically
detects installed wallets and prompts to add Arc Testnet if needed.
Arc Network auto detection
2
Enter Amount & Currency
The sender selects their source currency (e.g. SAR, AED, USD) and enters the amount
they wish to send. Zep Remit calculates the USDC equivalent in real time based on
live exchange rate approximations. The sender also selects the receiver's local currency
(BDT, PKR, INR, PHP, etc.) and sees the estimated local currency payout value.
All fees are transparently shown before signing.
Real time FX conversion preview
3
Paste Recipient Address & Send
The sender pastes the recipient's Arc compatible wallet address (0x…). After reviewing
the full breakdown amount, fee, estimated receipt they tap "Send Money" and sign
the transaction in their wallet. Zep Remit calls a standard ERC 20 transfer()
function on the USDC contract at 0x360000...0000 on Arc Network. No
custom smart contracts are involved; no trust in Zep Remit code is required for the transfer itself.
ERC 20 USDC transfer · wallet signed only
4
Recipient Receives in < 1 Second
Once the transaction is signed and broadcast, Arc Network's consensus finalizes it with
deterministic finality in under 800 milliseconds. The recipient's wallet balance updates
immediately. A transaction hash is generated, visible on ArcScan (Arc's block explorer).
The Zep Remit success modal displays the amount sent, amount received, fee paid, and
a link to verify the transaction on chain.
Settled · verifiable · non reversible

is identical to the planned mainnet flow. Testnet USDC is freely available via the Arc Network faucet at

05 The Arc Network
The Arc Network
Arc Network is a Layer 1 blockchain designed from the ground up around USDC. Built by Circle
the issuer of USDC and co founder of the Centre Consortium Arc represents the first blockchain
where USDC is the native gas token rather than an ERC 20 overlay. This design choice has profound
implications for remittance applications.
Because USDC is native, there is no "bridging" step, no wrapped token, and no price discovery
friction when transacting. A sender sends exactly what the receiver gets, denominated in a
dollar pegged stablecoin with 1:1 reserve backing. Gas costs are also denominated and paid in
USDC, removing the need for users to hold a separate "gas" cryptocurrency.

Arc's consensus mechanism achieves sub second deterministic finality a crucial property for
remittances. Unlike probabilistic finality (where a transaction might be reorganized away),
deterministic finality means once a transaction is confirmed, it is irreversible and settled.
This removes reconciliation overhead, chargebacks, and the need for provisional holds.
Arc is EVM compatible, which means all existing Ethereum ecosystem tooling works natively:
MetaMask, Ethers.js, Wagmi, Viem, Hardhat, and all major Web3 wallets integrate without
modification. Zep Remit is built with vanilla Ethers.js v6, requiring zero custom infrastructure
beyond pointing to Arc's RPC endpoint.

06 Fee Structure
Fee Structure
Zep Remit charges a single, flat 0.1% protocol fee on all transfers. There are no hidden
foreign exchange markups (transfers are USDC to USDC), no withdrawal fees, no monthly
subscription, and no corridor specific premiums. The only additional cost is Arc Network's
gas fee, which is paid in USDC and is typically less than $0.001 per transaction.
The table below compares our total cost of sending $500 against the major players in
the remittance market. All figures use publicly disclosed or verified transfer tests as of May 2026.

The compounding impact is significant. A migrant worker sending $500/month to their family
pays approximately $378/year to Western Union money that never reaches
the family. With Zep Remit, that cost drops to $6/year. Over a 10 year
working abroad cycle, the savings exceed $3,700 enough to fund a child's
university education in many receiver countries.
07 Currencies & Corridors
Supported Currencies & Corridors
Zep Remit currently supports 6 sender currencies and 11 receiver currencies on Arc Testnet,
covering the world's highest volume remittance corridors. Gulf to South Asia represents
approximately 40% of global remittance volume, making it our primary focus for the initial
deployment. UK/EU corridors are in active development for mainnet.

08 Architecture
System Architecture
Zep Remit is architecturally minimal by design. There is no backend server, no database,
no custodial component, and no proprietary smart contract. The entire application is a
static HTML/CSS/JavaScript frontend that communicates directly with the Arc Network via
a public RPC endpoint and the user's injected Web3 wallet.

The frontend communicates with Arc Network through the public testnet RPC endpoint
(rpc.testnet.arc.network) using Ethers.js v6. Transaction history is
available through ArcScan (testnet.arcscan.app). The UI is hosted as a
static site it can run from any server, IPFS, or even be opened as a local HTML file.
For mainnet, the architecture will optionally include: (1) on chain oracle feeds for live FX
rates, (2) a lightweight indexer for transaction history, and (3) off ramp adapters for
local currency cash out. Even with these additions, the core transfer flow will remain
entirely non custodial Zep Remit will never take custody of user funds at any point.
09 Security Model
Security Model
Zep Remit's security model is based on three principles: non custody, minimal surface area,
and battle tested primitives. We deliberately do not introduce any novel cryptographic
constructs, custom smart contracts, or proprietary backend infrastructure that could create
new attack vectors.
Non Custodial
Private keys never leave the user's wallet. Zep Remit never has access to, stores, or processes private keys at any point.
ERC 20 Standard Only
All transfers use the standard USDC ERC 20 transfer() function the most audited contract type in the EVM ecosystem.
No Backend Attack Surface
There is no server, no database, no API. A compromised Zep Remit frontend cannot steal user funds only the user's wallet can sign transactions.
Fully Transparent
Every transfer is recorded on chain and verifiable by anyone on ArcScan. There are no off chain settlement tables or reconciliation databases.
️
Circle Backed USDC
USDC is issued by Circle with 1:1 reserve backing, attested monthly by Grant Thornton. There is no stablecoin depeg risk from Zep Remit's side.
Deterministic Finality
Arc's consensus provides deterministic (not probabilistic) finality. Confirmed transactions are irreversible, eliminating reorg based fraud vectors.
The primary security risk in any Web3 application is frontend compromise (XSS, supply chain
attacks, or domain hijacking). We mitigate this by: (a) keeping the application as a single
self contained HTML file with no third party runtime dependencies beyond Ethers.js loaded from
a pinned CDN URL, (b) publishing source code openly for community review, and (c) planning to
deploy to IPFS for censorship resistant, content addressed hosting on mainnet.
Users should always verify the transaction details in their wallet before signing. Zep Remit
will never ask you to sign a setApprovalForAll(), permit(), or any
transaction other than a direct ERC 20 transfer(). If you see otherwise, treat it
as a phishing attempt.

11 Conclusion
Conclusion
The global remittance system is broken not because the technology to fix it didn't exist,
but because the incumbents who profit from it had no incentive to change it. Zep Remit
changes the calculus by removing all incumbents from the equation. On Arc Network, a USDC
transfer is just a transfer: instant, transparent, verifiable, and cheap.
We believe that the 800 million family members who depend on remittances deserve better
than losing 6% to intermediaries. A migrant worker in Riyadh should be able to tap their
phone and have their entire paycheck arrive in Dhaka before they finish their lunch break.
Not in 3 business days. Not with a $30 wire fee. Now. For $0.50.
Zep Remit is currently live on Arc Testnet. We invite developers, financial institutions,
corridor partners, NGOs, and everyday users to test the protocol, review our code, and join
us in building the remittance infrastructure the world actually needs. The technology is here.
The network is ready. The only remaining step is adoption and we are just getting started.
